General Laborer

At Majestic Home Solutions, we are looking for a young individual that wants to develop all-around skills in the home remodeling industry. The applicant should be someone with drive who wants to learn from the best! This individual will have a mixed role in leading the laborers/helpers in demolitions, concrete demo, fire-blocking/insulation, cleanup/organization of project sites. The other 40-60% of tasks will be with our lead carpenters or project managers doing various tasks anywhere from trim to punch-list. This being said, the more initiative one takes in this position by leading and listening to management will work with the lead carpenters and project managers more often (please expect to be working labor for a minimum of 3-6 months prior to advancement).

Being that this individual is looking to be an all around carpenter one day, we are expecting that this person has all the tool necessary to handle handyman tasks and some major tasks. We expect that this person will grow their tool box as they develop skill with Majestic Home Solutions.


Driving:

We work in all of Oakland and Macomb Counties. Please be aware before applying that you must have a reliable vehicle to get to and from work.

Expectations and Objectives:

Primary Work: (work that will be performed 40-60% of the time)

  • Clean up/organization of job-site
  • Demolition/concrete demolition & fill
  • Fire-Stop and insulation
  • Assisting frame crew (when needed)

Secondary Work: (worked performed 40-60% of the time)

Trim Carpentry

  • Will assist our Lead Carpenter in trimming a project
  • Will assist our Lead Carpenter in cabinetry install
  • Will assist our Lead Carpenter in stair casing/spindle install

Punch-List

  • Will assist our Project Manager in punch-list work
  • Punch-list will included minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, drywall repair, paint touch ups, hardware and shoe install

Qualifications Requirements:

  1. 2-4 Years in remodeling industry
  2. 2 Years of trade school REQUIRED
  3. Technology savvy (can work a smart phone, email and basic computer skills)
  4. High school diploma
  5. Truck or work van (reliable vehicle)
  6. Tools for both primary and secondary tasks

(FOR THOSE LIVING IN 10 MINUTES FROM ALMONT - SPECIAL OFFER WILL BE INCLUDED)

Wages and Compensation:

Starting hourly: $17.00/Hour payroll (30 Day Trial)??

  • After 30 days: $1/hour raise (with management approval)
  • After 90 days: $1/hour raise (with management approval)

Holidays paid time off

  • 8 hour day straight time pay

Gas discussed upon interview

 

End of year bonus:

  • Minimum 5 months active
  • Exceptional performance record
  • Up to on 40 hour work week bonus***

Retirement plan: Simple IRA (American Century Investments)

  • After 6 months 

Personal and vacation time off (paid)

  • After 12 months guarantee
  • Tier 1 will includes: 1 week paid + 3 Personal Days

(For those living within 10 minutes of Almont will have the opportunity to also be given our ProMaster to drive part time. Added responsibilities will be given to this position. This would include cabinetry and millwork deliveries, material pickup and drop off, and returns. Gas reimbursement will be included.)

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday: 7:45AM - 4:45PM

  • 30 minute lunch break
  • Later stays expected when closing a Job.
  • 40-45 Hour work weeks
  • (Overtime will only be given if all tasks were completed ahead of schedule for the week.)

Saturday:

  • Only if given permission by the production coordinator

All Major Holidays are Paid Time Off:

  • Discussed upon hiring

Requested Time Off:

  • Under 12 months are not paid time off
  • Whether you are over 12 months or under you must inform the Production Coordinator 60 days ahead of time for more then 3 days in a row off and 30 days for one to two days off. (Sickness or emergency happen just let us know.)

Chris Roumaya (VP of Marketing and Operations) will reach out to the top 6 candidates through via email.

For those who respond will be given a 10 min ice breaker phone conversation to set up a interview time at our office in Troy.

Interview will be with Chris Roumaya, and potentially Alex Reschka (Production Coordinator) or one of the Project Managers of Majestic Home Solutions.

After all interviews are complete, the top 2 candidates will be offered the position.

(Note: Majestic Home Solutions does do mandatory background checks. We cannot bring in anyone with a felony or not able drive legally.)
